TOP TEN PLACES TO VISIT/DO IN DALHOUSIE
'Dalhousie' is a hill station situated in the beautiful plains of the Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh, which was established by the former Viceroy of British India, Lord Dalhousie, 1858 and for this reason this hill station is still known as Dalhousie. Dalhousie is situated on five mountains (Katleng, Poteen, Tehra, Bakrota and Balloon) in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. So in this blog we will see 10 major tourist places / activities of Dalhousie.
10 River Crossing & White Water Rafting
Day by day river crossing and white water rafting are becoming very popular in Dalhousie as well as in the country and especially both these activities are carried out in Ravi and Sal river. Now this is also being done in Chamba river, many private and government organizations do these activities.
9 Trekking
Dalhousie is considered one of the few ideal places of trekking in India. The increasing number of trekkers in the coming days indicates increasing interest in trekking. Trekking reasons gives a very beautiful experience in itself, looking at the beautiful plains of the Himalayas.
8 Chamba Valley
Chamba Valley is located 60 km away from Dalhousie. Chamba is famous for its beautiful rivers with white water flowing and many ancient temples / historical temples on its banks, among which Champavati, Lakshminarayana, Chamundadevi etc are prominent.
7 Bakrota Hills
This hill is one of the most beautiful places in Dalhousie, every where lush granary snow capped mountain are very eyes catching incredible beauty of Himalaya can be viewed from Bakrota Hills.
6 Panchpula
Panchpula is situated at a distance of 2 km from Dalhousie, Panchpula means five bridges, Panchpula's waterfall is famous as a beautiful trek and picnic spot. If you go on foot, then Panchpula can enjoy your tour with more fun, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful water stream and beautiful plains to find in route.
5 Saint John's Church
This church is not only the oldest church in Dalhousie but it is also important in many historical ways.
4 Subhash Baoli
The famous Freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose stayed at this place for several days, this place is called Subhash Baoli by his name. It is said that Subhash Chandra Bose stayed at this place for seven months after his health deteriorated. It is believed that the air and water of this place have medicinal properties, and here humans are cured of their disease after staying over here.
3 Satadhara Jalaprat
Satadhara Waterfall is the most popular tourist destination of Dalhousie, located at an altitude of about 2037 meters. It is known as Satadhara because of the seven different streams of waterfall. It is believed that its water also has medicinal properties.
2 Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary
Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is home to many flora and fauna. Tourists can see the leopard, the bear, the fox langur, the Himalayan black martin, and the numberless colorful birds. Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is located 12 km away from Dalhousie.
1 Khiajjair
Khiajjair is a small place near Dalhousie which is also known as 'Mini Switzerland' and Switzerland of India. The beauty of this place has influenced many kingdoms, including the Rajput Mughals for many years. Situated at an elevation of 6500 feet, Khiajjair is also known for its nine-hole golf course surrounded by a breathtaking landscape of lush greenery. This attracts more tourists to adventure activities, of which Zorbing paragliding is prominent and popular.
