HAWAMAHAL JAIPUR RAJASTHAN
Hawamahal is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India, Hawamahal which is located in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, this palace was built by Raja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1498-99, Hawa Mahal is a unique model of Hindu-Rajpur and Mughal Architecture. The main architect of Hawa Mahal was Lalchand, Lalchand has ever built many more buildings in Jaipur city. It is believed that this palace is an offering to Lord Radha-Krishna, if seen from outside, this palace looks like the crown of Lord Krishna.
Hawa Mahal
is a total of five storeys with a height of 50 feet from the main base. A total
of 953 windows have been built in this palace. The road in front of the windows
is visible and the purpose of the construction of this palace was also that the
women of the palace could stay in their curtains to see the festivities of the
city and the daily routine life, in those days women had to live in the
curtains and the practice was followed accurately and that is why the windows
of Hawa Mahal have been made reticulated.
Additionally,
due to the "venturi effect", these intricately-forged ventilated
vents always keep the cool air inside the palace, due to which the palace is
always air-conditioned even in the hot summer.
Another
special thing about this palace is that the walls of its paradise are only 4
inches wide, on which the five-storeyed palace stands. Hawa Mahal has 365 Jali Jharokas equal to the days of the year. Only the hooves are arranged to go to
the top two floors of Hawa Mahal. It is said that keeping in mind the
inconvenience caused to the queens to climb the stairs by wearing long sagging
skirts, provision of hoofs was made in place of stairs for entry into its upper
two floors.
Hawa
Mahal is considered to be a part of the City Palace. There is no door in front
of Hawa Mahal and two entrances have been made on the right and left side of
the main palace.
The Hawa
Mahal can be entered through the royal door from the City Palace. It opens into
a large courtyard, surrounded by two-storied buildings on the three sides and
the grand Hawa Mahal on the east. There is also an archaeological
museum in this courtyard.
The
windows of Hawa Mahal have a unique craft of colored glass. When the sun's
light enters the rooms of the palace through these colored glasses, the entire
room is filled with rainbow looks.
The
window of the Hawa Mahal gives a wonderful view of the rear, in which the 'Samrat Yantr' of the world famous Jantar Mantar is seen and Isarlat can also
be seen in the form of a long tower.
Hawa Mahal
was Maharaja Jai Singh's favorite place to rest because its interior decoration is very
beautiful. In all its chambers, there were invariably cold air flowing from the
953 vents in the front, whose fountains are also arranged in the front hall of
all the chambers to increase
the effect of coolness in summer.
This is
exactly opposite from the back of Hawa Mahal, because the back of Hawa Mahal is
very simple. Its cultural and craft heritage is a unique blend of Hindu Rajput and Mughal architecture style.
